On September 30, 2017, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers from the Falcon Lake Detachment received a report of a male diver in distress at West Hawk Lake.
Police say that the diver, a 55-year-old Winnipeg man, was conducting a recreational dive with his wife when the accident occurred. The diver was pulled from the water and later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators believe the diver may have run out of air and suffered a medical issue as he surfaced.
No foul play is suspected and the Falcon Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
