RCMP continue the search for 26-year-old Tyler Darrell Leeder, wanted for armed robbery offenses in Wadena, Saskatchewan and Somerset, Manitoba.

On April 1, 2012, at approximately 7:30pm, an RCMP member with the Beiseker Detachment stopped a Ford F350 truck, bearing Alberta license plate WVE 943, for speeding through the Town of Irricana. It is believed that the truck had multiple occupants inside. After stopping the vehicle, the truck immediately reversed and struck the police car causing significant front end damage. The truck attempted to flee the area and the RCMP member followed the vehicle. The truck eventually stopped and as the RCMP member exited the police car, the truck reversed from a significant distance and rammed the vehicle a second time causing the car to be disabled. The RCMP member was able to avoid being hit by the truck and returned to the police car before it was struck. The Ford F350 truck then fled the scene. The RCMP member was transported to the hospital in Calgary where he was treated and released for his injuries.

The investigation has revealed that the plate on the Ford truck was stolen from a business in Redcliffe, Alberta. The white Ford F350 was reported stolen on March 30 from Perdue, Saskatchewan. A person of interest in respect to this incident has been identified as 26-year-old Tyler Darrell Leeder. He is currently wanted on a Canada Wide warrant for a parole violation, and is wanted for armed robbery offenses in Wadena, Saskatchewan and Somerset, Manitoba.

Tyler Leeder is described as a Caucasion male, 180 cm tall, approximately 70 kgs, with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. The suspect also had some facial hair and was wearing all black clothing. Leeder has distinctive tattoos on his neck, including a Canadian flag and the word ‘Alberta’, as well as significant tattooing on both hands.

Airdrie Rural RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Tyler Darrell Leeder, last known to be of Lethbridge. The RCMP also request assistance to locate the 2002 White F350 truck. Leeder is believed to be armed and dangerous. RCMP advise the public not to approach Leeder, but to notify the police, call 911 or call Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-TIPS) immediately if seen.
