On January 15, 2013, in connection to a recent home invasion that occurred in New Bothwell, Steinbach RCMP with the assistance of the D Division Emergency Response Team arrested 2 males at a Blumenort residence.
RCMP report that 20-year-old Colin Bernardin-Hebert along with another male, a resident of Blumenort, are facing numerous firearms and related charges. Bernardin-Hebert has been remanded in custody and will appear in Court in Winnipeg on January 17, 2013. The second suspect was released from custody on a promise to appear for court on February 20, 2013. He is currently facing a charge of possessing property obtained by crime.
Police say that as a result of a search warrant being executed on the residence in Blumenort, numerous items, believed to have been stolen during the home invasion in New Bothwell, have been recovered.
The investigation into this matter continues with the assistance of RCMP Officers from D Division Serious/Major Crime Units.
