Roger Ginter, new Rentals Administrator at Mennonite Heritage Village.

Our auditorium and meeting rooms at Mennonite Heritage Village have become choice event locations for many organizations and individuals. As this rental business grows, so does the need for staff to administer it. Many meetings, banquets and receptions take place evenings and weekends, with much time and effort required for arranging and hosting.

We are pleased to announce that Roger Ginter has joined our team as our Rentals Administrator. Roger’s job is to meet with people who are considering the rental of one of our available spaces and helping them understand what our hosting capabilities are. After the client has confirmed the rental, Roger will ensure that all the arrangements to accommodate the event are made, that the event is staffed as required, and that the facility is cleaned up appropriately for the next rental. Feel free to call Roger at 204-326-9661 to book your next meeting or event.

Kroeger Clocks

In 2012 MHV released Kroeger Clocks, a coffee table book about the history of this prized clock which was manufactured by Mennonites and, in many cases, brought from Russia as a valued family possession. There are Kroeger clocks in our collection of artifacts and in the homes of many Mennonites in North America.

Mr. Arthur Kroeger, the author of this book, will be reading from it and appraising clocks at Kaufman Museum, located on the campus of Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, on Sunday, April 6.

Kroeger Clocks is available in our Book Shop and at McNally Robinson in Winnipeg for $29.99. It has been on the “Best Seller” list at McNally Robinson.

Education Program

Every year approximately 4,000 students, along with their teachers, caregivers and supporting parents, visit MHV on a field trip. Our curriculum supports the provincial Social Studies curriculum for students in Grades 3–6. May and June are the most popular months for this program.

The number of students we can accommodate in one day is limited. At this time of year the rate of bookings picks up as teachers begin to think about their end-of-school-year field trip. Teachers are encouraged to book sooner rather than later in order to secure the day most suitable for their class.

This program also requires the committed support of many volunteers to provide interpretation and assistance in various areas.

Teachers and interested volunteers should call Anne Toews at 204-326-9661 to learn more about this program.
