Wow it has been a long time since I sent in any blogs. Sorry for the delay. My life has been a little crazy.

In my last post, I talked about resolutions revisited. I am happy to report that not only are my resolutions still going, but since December 10th I have lost 15 pounds in total, I have shrunk enough that I need to go get new pants.

Training – so with this in mind I am in training. I have signed up to run a half marathon in August with Team Diabetes. Have I ever run a half marathon before?  Nope. This truly will be a new experience. Seeing as I haven’t ran that far EVER. I needed to update my running skills. I am now able to run for 10 minutes at a time, and put a 1 minute walk break in-between each set of running. It took me from the middle of December to the end of February for me to get to this point. I took it slow gradually adding a little longer running set each time.

Fund raising – as part of this journey I need to raise money for my run. Canadian Diabetes wants me to raise $350. it is not a difficult goal. I on the other hand have decided that my goal will be $1,000. I have completed my Diabetes goal, and am now half way to my goal!

The weekend of March 23, I have a training run. It is called the Run for Tourettes. I am running it to prepare myself for races.

Why am I telling you all this – you know the soap box thing. Firstly I am telling you for accountability to you all. I told you I was going to actually follow through on what I said LAST year, and secondly, to PROVE to you that if you set your mind to do something, and you work diligently you can accomplish great things OVER time. I did not get back into running in December thinking that I was going to run 10 minutes at a time. I actually started out with running 1 minute and walking 2 minutes, and did that three times per week. Then the next week I ran 1 minute and walked one minute. I did things slowly. Do I wish that the weight would drop off quicker? ABSOLUTELY – at this rate it will be September 2014 before I each my goal. I am not giving up, I will keep going…

Lastly, if I can do this, so can you.
