May and June are typically the busiest months for our Education Program, with groups of students coming almost every day. It’s not uncommon to see up to 200 students a day making their way to MHV on field trips. Then in July and August we run our Pioneer Day Camps and host numerous daycare centres.

While we still have a few school bookings for fall, most of our formal education program has now been completed for 2013. Devon Guenther and Angela Neufeld, under the leadership of Anne Toews, did a superb job of administering the program. Numerous volunteers provided essential support in the delivery of the program.

This year we had 3,465 students enrolled in our various summer programs from May to August. That was an increase of 289 students over the same period last year. We also saw a growing level of interest in our hands-on tour, suggesting that children like to be personally involved in the learning experience.
