On Sunday morning someone sat down beside me in church and said, “Well, Barry, are you all done with your work now?” With the outdoor Village being closed for the winter and our final festival event, Touch of Christmas, now behind us, this was not an unreasonable assumption. However my response was, “Not exactly. We still need to raise $45,000 before the end of the year in order to show a balanced year-end statement.” So there is still considerable work to be done.

If you would like to support the work of Mennonite Heritage Village, please don’t wait for our letter, call or email. Any donations received prior to January 1, 2014, or in envelopes with a date stamp of 2013, will be treated as current year’s income. Our address is 231 PTH 12 North, Steinbach, MB R5G 1T8.

Our Gift Shop will be open for business weekdays from 9:00AM – 5:00PM through Monday, December 23. On the 24th the Gift Shop will be open 9:00AM – 3:00PM. Consider all the unique gift opportunities that exist there: items like wooden clothes dryers, crokinole boards, paepanaet (phephernuese) and old-fashioned Ribbon Candy. Keep in mind as well that you can enjoy a cookie and a cup of coffee as part of this shopping excursion.

Other than a few private rental functions, Mennonite Heritage Village will be closed from 3:00PM on December 24 until 9:00AM on January 6.
