On Parliament Hill

I would like to wish the people of Provencher a very Happy New Year.

Reflecting on the past few years, I am impressed by the accomplishments made by our Conservative Government. As a result of our economic management, I am proud to say that:

• We have increased Manitoba’s transfer payments by 21% from 2005 levels.
• We have provided predictable and ongoing support for vital infrastructure by dedicating a portion of the Gas Tax.
• We have cut taxes over 150 times, saving the average family more than $3200 per year.
• With the lowest overall tax rate on new business investment in the Group of Seven (G-7), Canada is now well above its pre-recession peak, while no other G-7 country has even recovered to pre-recession levels.
• In 2013, Canada’s financial services sector was ranked the best in the world for the sixth year in a row.

As your new Member of Parliament, I am delighted to be your representative in Ottawa and I believe that it is my responsibility to take your concerns to the nation’s capital. I know that most people in Provencher understand this fact, but many may not be aware of the services my office provides.

I am always interested in hearing your opinions on issues that matter to you. My office, in conjunction with me, will respond to any questions you may have surrounding our Government’s policies and will follow-up on any comments or suggestions that you may have.

Additionally, we will respond to a number of other requests including:

• Application for Immigration;
• Application for Passport;
• Issues surrounding Employment Insurance;
• Issues with the Disability Benefit;
• Seniors Assistance Programs such as Old Age Security, Canada Pension Plan, etc.;
• Federal Grant, Bursary, and Funding Information; and any other help needed with federal programing.

Despite my busy schedule, I also enjoy the opportunity to attend events in our communities. If there are any events in your area that you would like me to attend, please feel free to contact my office. Although I cannot guarantee my availability for every function, serving my constituents is my number one priority.
