View From the Legislature

As Minister for Training in Manitoba, I was pleased to recently announce the opening of 43 job centres across Manitoba (including in Steinbach) for young people. These job centres are there to help young people age 12 to 29 get matched for summer employment with local employers.

The centres will be open from May 13 until August 16 and are staffed by local post-secondary students. They are an important part in helping young Manitobans get summer income and experience for their future careers. In total, each summer they serve between 8,000 and 11,000 Manitoba youth and students.

Thank you to those who are working at the job centres across Manitoba and to the employers who are helping create employment opportunities for many young Manitobans.
