A little more than 3 years ago when I came to work at MHV, it became obvious to me that The General Store at the west end of our Main Street badly needed repairs and paint. Since we had no funds designated for this project we began looking for volunteers and donors to restore the building. This initiative was not successful until this year when a number of local businesses and individuals donated and pledged a significant amount of money to restore a number of our aging facilities.
The latest building to get its “facelift” is The General Store. Old siding has been replaced, windows have been repaired and a beautiful coat of white paint with dark blue trim has been applied. We are grateful to the Steinbach Credit Union, Barkman and other local donors who teamed up with Bob’s Woodworking and Broesky Painting to deliver this restoration.
