Thanksgiving

We recently finished Thanksgiving. What do you have to be thankful for? There is a picture that is floating on Facebook that says something along the lines of what if the only things you had left were the things you gave thanks for. What would you have left?

I find that as a society, we tend to be ready to complain about stuff as opposed to be the positive in things. I heard a pastor once talking about the color of the grass on each side of the fence; his comment was “the grass is always greener… WHERE YOU WATER IT”. Therefore my question to you is, what side are you watering?

Case in point – my last blog was about our house and the fact that it is for sale. Well, it is still for sale, and I am losing patience. Therefore what side am I watering?  Apparently I am watering the wrong side!  I have also heard the cliché about God closing the doors. The proper response should be to Praise him in the hallway. I am trying to do that, and most days I am doing that. I am actually watering the correct side, and I am praising God every chance I remember. So I choose to look on the bright side and say – well at least I haven’t had to pack up the house yet!

So, now that you’ve heard my tale, let’s evaluate your life. If you are reading this, you have access to a computer. Did you sleep in a bed last night? There are kids in the city that have no bed. What about food, helping hands on average give out 400 bags of food per month. These are all things that are happening around us. I may not have my new house yet, but I do know that God is in control.

So why am I telling you this? Partly, because I need to keep things in perspective, and partly because I know you do too…
