God is Gracious

You may remember in my previous 2 blogs that I am trying to sell my house. Well, it has sold, and we are in our new home. This is my declaration – I am not moving AGAIN (unless of course God says otherwise).

But, what I really wanted to encourage you with today is this…God hears, God understands, and God provides.

As you know we had our house for sale for 4 months. It felt like 4 years. We knew what house we wanted, and had an offer on our new house with the condition that our house was to sell. We actually had to extend that condition and were getting VERY close to not getting our house.

Question that comes to mind is how did I know that the house was supposed to be ours? God told me. It started out when we went looking at a house on the south side of Steinbach. While we were peaking in the windows, we saw a guy working on a house on the other side of the street. It turns out he was the builder. He asks us if we are looking for a house, and wants to show us the one he is building.

I told him we would not be interested because the living room was facing the wrong way! I like my living room to face towards the west, and because the front of the house faces to the east it could not be acceptable. Low and behold, the bedrooms face to the east, and the living room certainly faces to the west which is what I like. We walked through the house, and had to visualize a lot of  things as there were no cupboards, no flooring and no paint. I fell in love with the potential of this house.

We put an offer on it, and because we went lower than the builder had wanted our offer was countered, and we considered it a dead deal. I really wanted that house though, and had my little cry. I then prayed and gave the house back to the Lord as I had no idea how we would be able to have this house. The next day I am looking on line at houses for sale and I see a house in another area of the city. Wouldn’t you know it, but it is the exact design of what I think the kitchen is going to look like at the house we just gave up. So I prayed, and told the Lord that it is difficult to give up a house that is not for us if you keep bringing it up to us! I have let the house go, can we please leave it there if it is not to be my house.

The next day, I get a call about the house I gave up. The day after that every file number I see is the house number. This time I pray – ok do you want me to give this house up? Are you actually giving me this house, and this is how you are telling me?

Long story shortened, God heard my prayers, he understood my frustration, and he provided me with my dream home. I am not saying this is how God works every time, just that this is how he worked for me this time.
