Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV) is fortunate to have partnerships with a number of local organizations that are supportive of our activities and programs. Two of these organizations have planned another 50th Anniversary event. Linda Schroeder, President of the MHV Auxiliary, offers the following description of this event.
“The Steinbach and Area Garden Club (SAGC) and the Mennonite Heritage Village Auxiliary invite you to “Indulge Your Senses” on Saturday, July 12. This joint venture is in commemoration of MHV’s 50th Anniversary.
“These two organizations have a long standing history of collaboration at MHV. The SAGC takes care of all the flowers, shrubs and gardens on the grounds of MHV, including watering the many flower beds and pots. The Auxiliary provides the funds for the plants, pots, bulbs, shrubs and gardening equipment. This has been a win/win for everyone!
“So, for this occasion, the SAGC and MHV Auxiliary invite you to indulge your senses by visiting nine local gardens, most of which have never been open to the public. You will enjoy gardens, music and art and will experience a memorable tour. The tour runs from 10 AM – 4 PM and ends with a tea at the MHV Housebarn garden from 2 – 4 PM.
“Tickets are only $20 and are available at MHV, Sunshine Greenhouse, Oakridge Garden Centre and Café and from the SAGC.”
