Building our Communities in the Southeast

Like our hard working volunteers, small businesses make up the backbone of our communities. Here in Southeastern Manitoba we are fortunate to be part of growing communities who can attribute this success to our entrepreneurial spirit.

Our Conservative Government recognizes that small businesses play an important role here in Manitoba and across Canada. In fact, small businesses employ roughly 50% of Canada’s total private sector labour force.

That’s why our Conservative Government has introduced a number of measures to help small businesses continue to grow and prosper. For example, we’ve introduced the New Small Business Job Credit, which will lower businesses’ Employment Insurance premiums and give small business owners more money to hire workers and invest in their businesses.

Now our Government is making improvements to the Canada Small Business Financing Program. Our changes will allow more businesses to apply for loans and will make larger loans available for small businesses to purchase or improve their land or buildings – enhancing the ability of small businesses to grow and create jobs.

I applaud our Government for recognizing the hard working business owners who move our community forward.
