On Parliament Hill

2018 is here. It is my great honour and privilege to continue to serve the residents of Provencher as your Member of Parliament, both in Ottawa but also here in our riding. It’s been so nice to be home celebrating the Christmas season with my family as well as being out and about in the riding meeting with constituents. Provencher is truly the best riding in Canada.

Before things get going again in Ottawa, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of some of the services our office provides here in the riding.

As a member of the Federal Government I am well aware that dealing with government agencies can be difficult. Part of my job as MP is to help you. If you are having difficulty with the Canada Revenue Agency (income taxes), Service Canada (EI, Old Age Security etc.) or any other Federal agency you can call my office and we will advocate on your behalf. Having your MP call and inquire on your behalf can sometimes help get things moving.

Our office can also help with immigration matters. If you are dealing with the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRC) we can help you through the process of navigating your application.

Our office is also here to help celebrate and promote Canada. We provide Canada flag pins, paper flags and other paraphernalia (free of charge) for schools, events and those who are travelling.

Our office gets a lot of calls relating to matters that do not fall under federal jurisdiction. While we are unable to get involved in issues at the Provincial level (Hydro, MPI, Child and Family Services etc.) or the Municipal level (snow removal, roadworks, property taxes, animal control etc.), we can help point you in the right direction as to who you should be talking to, provide contact information and forward correspondence.

I also meet regularly with leaders in our community: business people, advocacy groups, my provincial and municipal counterparts, and members of various Government agencies all in an effort to help the people of Provencher and move their issues forward.
