With the recent outbreak of forest fires, Canadians have once again shown their willingness to help during times of crisis.

The topic of physician assisted suicide has dominated the media recently. As you know, the Supreme Court of Canada has found the current Criminal Code prohibition on physician-assisted suicide to be constitutionally invalid and the Liberal Government has drafted a new law, Bill C-14, to address this issue.

Southeastern Manitoba is getting attention because of the entrepreneurial spirit of its people. We’ve always been innovators as we looked for better ways to do things on the farm, in business, or even just at home.

Justin Trudeau’s Liberals campaigned on a promise to be open and transparent. However, the independent Parliamentary Budget Office recently released a report questioning the government’s figures and why they hadn’t subjected their analysis to peer review.

This week I had the honour to rise in the House of Commons and speak to Canadians about my Private Members’ Bill – The Fairness in Charitable Gifts Act, Bill C-239.
