Notice the title: Works – Deeds – Salvation… If those words in the title somehow mirror my understanding of Scripture, then perhaps I need to search for a deeper understanding what James is teaching.

There are times when we are faced with something that gets us in trouble. Jesus was no different when he was walking among people.

Ever get discouraged, depressed, or you just feel plain miserable? Sure, we have! Discouragement rears its ugly head in every corner of the world, even among Christians.

Sometimes what we say can be funny. But sometimes it is not that funny. Sometimes we say things we do not mean to say. However, there are times I say things that I mean to say, but I should not because it will be misunderstood by others, and it may just hurt some people.

As a young person we remember a time when we called a friend aside to share a secret? The moment we began to utter the word secret we became the center of attention and, at least for that moment, it was fun.

Seldom do I write to you folks about death. We always want to stay on the living side of things and not think too much about the dying side of things.

You and I cannot forget the Easter season. We cannot forget how Jesus challenged His people when He approached Jerusalem.

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood: What does that mean? As new Christians, it did not take very long for our faith to be challenged by some unseen forces, forces that did not have bodies; evil spirits that attacked our faith.

I will exalt. I will praise. I will commend. I will tell. I will meditate. I will proclaim, and I will celebrate. What a way to start the New Year.

Every Christmas you and I must come to terms with the birth and nature of Jesus Christ.
