Manitoba families will be benefiting from tax changes coming into effect in 2019 that will help keep more money in your pockets.

The beginning of a New Year is a great time to reflect back on the previous year and most importantly, to look ahead to the coming year.

Recently I was asked what my favorite Christmas gift I received as a child was. That question alone brought back a flood of memories, not so much because of the number of gifts that come to mind but because of the different stages of life that it reminds you of.

Recently our government announced a bilateral agreement with the federal government that will mean more than eight million dollars being made available for treatment and recovery from meth addiction.

Last week, Premier’s from across Canada met in Montreal for their annual meeting to discuss a number of issues with their provincial counterparts and the Prime Minister.

This week also celebrates 20 years of leadership by the Association of Manitoba Municipalities. For 20 years AMM has been the unified voice of municipalities from across the province in bringing forward issues of concern and learning from each other.

On Monday morning I had the opportunity to join local municipal officials and those from the Hanover School Division to announce a significant expansion to Mitchell Elementary School.

Recently at the Legislature I had the opportunity to participate in a fantastic event with community members celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
