Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP are currently investigating a recent fire that destroyed an abandoned church building located in the Rural Municipality of Alonso, Manitoba.
On December 7, 2021, at approximately 4:50 pm, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP, along with the Rorketon Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services, responded to a structure fire at an abandoned church in the RM of Alonso.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers said that the church was fully engulfed with flames.
Police believe that no one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
RCMP report that the cause of the fire is still under investigation and that the Office of the Fire Commissioner is assisting.
