Steinbach RCMP are reporting that numerous firearms, as well as the handgun used in a recent shooting incident, have been seized. The incident is part of an ongoing investigation involving the recent shooting of a 31-year-old man from the Rural Municipality of Ste. Anne, Manitoba.
On February 10, 2022, Steinbach RCMP responded to a shooting incident at a residence located in the RM of Ste. Anne. The incident resulted in a 31-year-old Ste. Anne man being taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, 27-year-old Nadezda White fled the scene but was later arrested. White was charged with assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm with intent, careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
On February 16, Steinbach RCMP along with the General Investigation Section and Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant at a residence in St. Labre, Manitoba, as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police say that as a result of the search, the handgun used in the shooting on February 10, along with several other firearms, were seized.
RCMP report that a 27-year-old St. Labre man, was arrested in connection to the investigation. He is facing multiple firearms related charges and is scheduled for a Steinbach court appearance in May.
Steinbach RCMP continue to investigate these crimes.
