Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to a search warrant that was recently executed at a location in the Rural Municipality of Ste. Anne, Manitoba.
On March 30, 2022 Steinbach RCMP and Steinbach General Investigation Section executed a search warrant in the RM of Ste. Anne. As a result of the search, police recovered over 60,000 unstamped illegal cigarettes, cocaine, methamphetamine, psilocybin (mushrooms), over $3,700 cash and three rifles and ammunition that were improperly stored.
RCMP report that 40-year-old James Armstrong was arrested, and is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, failing to comply with a release order and careless storage of firearms. In regards with the possession of unstamped cigarettes, Armstrong also faces three charges through the Criminal Code, Excise Act and the Tax Administration and Miscellaneous Taxed Act (TAMPTA).
Police say that the accused was remanded into custody.
