A 26-year-old Selkirk man has been arrested by RCMP after a failed attempt at breaking into a residence located on Highway 9 in the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews, Manitoba.
On April 24, 2022, at approximately 6:50am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a break and enter at a local residence in the RM of St. Andrews.
Police say that a homeowner reported that a male suspect attempted to gain entry into his home, but was unsuccessful. The suspect subsequently broke into a detached garage on the property and fled on foot a short time later.
When officers arrived at the scene, it was determined that the suspect may be at a business located across the street from the residence. Officers attended the business, located the suspect inside the bathroom and arrested him as a result.
RCMP report that 26-year-old Jordan Blahitka from Selkirk has been charged with breaking and entering with intent, possession of property obtained by crime and numerous counts of failing to comply.
