The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce has announced that it is bringing back the “Backyard Tourist” event for a second year. The event is scheduled to run through May 18, 2022.
“The Backyard Tourist event supports the Chamber’s vision of leading growth and connecting people in our community,” said Christine Beaumont, Steinbach Chamber President. “Events such as this support economic growth and stability for our business community and that speaks to the benefit of our community as a whole.”
“Local businesses are more than just a place to shop – they are a part of the community’s backbone, and they invest in the community in so many ways,” said Michelle Bezditny, Executive Director for the Chamber. “Steinbach and area are considered communities with incredible heart, character, generosity, and integrity and Backyard Tourist is just another way to promote and celebrate that.”
From May 2-18, 2022, the public is invited to post pictures on Facebook or Instagram, tagging the Steinbach Chamber, for a chance to win 1 of 2 incredible local tourism prize packs, valued at $150, filled with wonderful gift cards to a variety of local tourism and hospitality businesses.
Community members are invited to participate in the event in three easy steps:
- Buy – Show your love for local by purchasing something from a local southeast business.
- Brag – Brag about your purchase on Facebook or Instagram. Simply post a picture showcasing your local purchase, or share the post of a local business you support and love.
- Tag – Be sure to tag #SteinbachChamber and #BackyardTourist. Share the love by tagging the local business too! Then, tag a friend or 2 to keep the love for local spreading!
