Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 39-year-old Marchand, Manitoba man has been charged in connection to a recent five vehicle collision that occurred at a location on Highway 52 in the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie.
On June 1, 2022, Steinbach RCMP responded to a multiple vehicle accident RM of La Broquerie. The incident involved five vehicles, which were all traveling east on Highway 52.
Police determined that a commercial vehicle stopped to turn left into a driveway near Borland Road. As a result, three vehicles stopped behind the turning vehicle. The fourth vehicle, a pickup truck, did not stop and drove into the rear of the last vehicle causing a chain reaction. Officers noted that all five vehicles involved in the incident sustained damage.
EMS attended the scene, however, none of the occupants of the vehicles required further medical care.
RCMP report that the pickup truck driver, a 39-year-old Marchand man, was determined to have a suspended driver’s licence. Consequently, he was charged with driving while suspended and driving carelessly.
