A 20-year-old Winkler man has died as the result of a recent single vehicle collision that occurred at a location on Road 19 North in the Rural Municipality of Roland, Manitoba.
On June 2, 2022, at approximately 5:15pm, Pembina Valley RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision in the RM of Roland. Police say that the vehicle was on its roof in the spillway and submerged in water.
Initial investigation has determined that the vehicle was traveling east on Road 19 North when it drove on an angle into the ditch. Subsequently, the vehicle struck a spillway drain and flipped.
Once on scene, the local fire department was able to extract a 20-year-old Winkler man, and lone occupant, from the vehicle. The male victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
RCMP report that the male driver was wearing his seatbelt and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
