The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce has announced that they are now accepting public nominations for the 2016 Business Excellence Awards which will be announced later in the year.
“This is an excellent opportunity for customers to recognize excellence in the business community,” said Linda Peters, Executive Director of the Steinbach Chamber. “To be acknowledged by customers is very satisfying and confirms that a business is meeting needs in the community. It is the reason why these awards mean so much to nominees.”
If you have experienced amazing customer service, know of a business that is always supporting fundraising efforts or community events or know of a young entrepreneur that you think will be a future leader in our community, the Chamber wants to here from you.
The public can nominate businesses in five categories: Business of the Year, Customer Service, Community Involvement, Future Leader and new this year, Non-Profit Excellence. Nominations are accepted online at the Chamber website, steinbachchamber.com/business-awards starting August 2nd until August 31st. Nominations can also be submitted by filling out a nomination form at the Chamber Office.
The awards are a two-step process. After all nominations are received, it is time to vote. The public will be asked to go to the Chamber’s website again between September 1st and 21st to select the business they feel is most deserving of the Customer Service Award. A selection committee will choose winners from the nominees for the other four categories using specific criteria.
“There is always a lot of discussion about how local business can support the community. These awards are a chance for the community to support local business – for great customer service, for leadership, for helping to make Steinbach a great place to live,” says Peters. “We strongly encourage everyone to participate.”
The winners will be announced and awards presented at the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting held on November 3, 2016.
