Steinbach RCMP are currently investigating a number of theft incidents that occurred in Steinbach and Blumenort and are asking the public for any information that may help in the investigations.
On July 26, 2022 Steinbach RCMP received a report of a theft that occurred sometime overnight from Penner Auction located on Brandt Street in Steinbach. The theft is believed to have occurred between 7pm on July 25 and 8am on July 26, 2022.
RCMP say that a white GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck, bearing licence plate CEF 456, along with a white Freedom trailer, bearing licence plate CLF 714, were stolen from the auction yard.
Police noted that the trailer had various lawn maintenance equipment inside, including two Walker mowers and a Kabota LX 3310 tractor with a mower deck attached.
RCMP report that the truck has since been recovered in St Pierre-Jolys area however the trailer and other items still remain missing.
Also on July 26, Steinbach RCMP received a report of stolen Manitoba license plates CEA837. The plates were stolen from a vehicle parked on Centre Avenue in Blumenort, but it is unknown when the theft occurred.
