Portage la Prairie RCMP are reporting that a 26-year-old Brandon man was recently injured at a highway construction zone located in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
On August 8, 2022, at approximately 6pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a construction worker being injured by a machine in a construction zone located on the Trans-Canada Highway at the west end of Portage la Prairie.
Initial police investigation determined that a 26-year-old Brandon man was working construction on-site when he came into contact with a tow-behind compactor, causing significant injuries. Subsequently, the worker was transported to hospital in stable condition.
Police say that it does not appear that any criminality was involved in this incident and that Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health has taken carriage of the investigation.
