A 25-year-old man from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan was recently arrested and charged after RCMP discovered drugs in his luggage at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.
On August 18, 2022, at approximately 5:20am, RCMP officers were called to attend to the screening area at the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport on a report of possible drugs contained within a suitcase.
Police say that upon inspection of the suitcase, a brick of a substance weighing nearly 1.2 kilograms, believed to be cocaine, was seized. Officers then attended to the departure area and identified the owner of the suitcase.
RCMP report that 25-year-old Gulled Hussein from Saskatoon, who was destined for Toronto, was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. Hussein was also charged for obstruction and identity fraud in relation to the presentation of fake ID to officers, and was remanded into custody for a court appearance in Winnipeg.
