Lac du Bonnet RCMP are reporting that a 30-year-old Powerview, Manitoba man has died as the result of a recent vehicle collision that occurred in Pinawa.
On September 11, 2022, at approximately 10:30am, Lac du Bonnet RCMP received a report of a fatal collision at a location near the end of Provincial Road 211 in Pinawa. Upon arrival at the scene, officers observed a deceased 30-year-old male from Powerview.
Initial police investigation determined that the collision occurred on the night of September 10, sometime between 10:30pm and 11:30pm.
Police say that the male driver had been traveling east on PR 211, at a high rate of speed, when he struck a tree. The vehicle subsequently came to rest on the embankment of the Pinawa Channel. The driver was then ejected from the vehicle onto the embankment and succumbed to his injuries.
RCMP noted that the driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
