On March 31, 2017, at approximately 5am, Steinbach RCMP responded to a complaint of a motor vehicle theft that occurred in the RM of Ste. Anne, Manitoba.
Police attended and were able to intercept the stolen vehicle on Highway 206 just outside of Landmark, MB. Police completed a high risk vehicle stop with the stolen vehicle and took the male driver into custody without further incident.
Police later discovered through the investigation that the male driver was intoxicated and therefore is currently facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime and impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
RCMP report that the vehicle recovered was returned to the owner without any damage to the vehicle and no one was injured as a result of this incident.
