A playoff hero in game five of their semi-final series, Steinbach Pistons’ Braden Purtill has been named this week’s Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week.
19-year-old Purtill scored the game-winning goal in the Pistons’ 3-2 win Sunday over Portage Terriers in game five of their best-of-seven series. Terriers are up 3-2 and host game six in Portage on Tuesday April 4.
Purtill, who hails from Winnipeg, was selected the first star in Sunday’s win. Last week the forward recorded three points (2-1) in three games.
The runners up are 18-year-old forward Ty Enns of the Portage Terriers and 19-year-old goaltender Brett Epp of the OCN Blizzard.
