Big Freight Systems of Steinbach, was recently recognized for its outstanding safety records in 2016 at the Truckload Carriers Association’s (TCA) Annual Convention in Nashville Tennessee.
The Truckload Carriers Association’s Annual Convention wrapped up with two truckload carriers, demonstrating outstanding safety records in 2016, being presented with the organization’s prestigious National Fleet Safety Awards. Sponsored by Great West Casualty Company, the 2016 awards went to Big Freight Systems, Inc., of Steinbach, Manitoba and Bison Transport of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Big Freight Systems, Inc., represented by Gary Coleman, president and CEO, received the award for truckload companies in the small carrier division (total annual mileage of less than 25 million miles). Bison Transport, represented by Rob Penner, president & CEO, won for truckload companies in the large carrier division (total annual mileage of 25 million or more miles). Both companies will be recognized again during TCA’s Safety & Security Division Annual Meeting, to be held May 21-23, 2017, in Glendale, Arizona.
“TCA is proud to operate this contest, which spotlights companies that have innovative safety programs and a rock-solid commitment to safety in the workplace and out on the highways,” said John Lyboldt, TCA’s president. “Getting to the level of safety that our grand-prize winners have achieved requires much behind-the-scenes work and attention to detail. It is our privilege to name them as the safest truckload fleets in North America!”
