RCMP Traffic Services are reporting the recent death of a pedestrian on the Perimeter Highway in Winnipeg. The death was the result of being struck by a semi-truck driver from Blumenort, Manitoba.
On October 19, 2022, at approximately 1:40am, RCMP Traffic Services responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on the Perimeter Highway, east of the intersection of St. Anne’s Road, in Winnipeg.
Initial police investigation has determined that a semi-truck was traveling east, when a pedestrian walked onto the roadway and was struck.
Police say that the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and officers are in the process of confirming the identity of the individual.
RCMP report that the driver of the semi, a 52-year-old Blumenort, Manitoba man was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
