Pembina Valley RCMP are reporting that a 47-year-old Winnipeg man has died after being struck by a truck at a location on Highway 3, approximately two kilometres north of Highway 14, in the Rural Municipality of Stanley.
On April 3, 2023, at approximately 9:30am, Pembina Valley RCMP received a report of a semi-trailer that had hit the ditch on Highway 3.
Police responded to the scene and investigation determined that a southbound semi-trailer, being driven by a 47-year-old Winnipeg man, lost control and entered the east ditch. The driver then exited his vehicle and was standing on the passenger side, when a deck truck also lost control on the ice-covered roadway and entered the ditch, striking the man as a result.
RCMP report that the 47-year-old male victim was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The 39-year-old male driver of the deck truck was not injured in this incident.
