Steinbach RCMP are currently investigating the discovery of a body that was recently found near a property located off of Hespeler Street in Steinbach.
On April 12, 2023, at approximately 6pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a body discovered in the community. The deceased has not yet been identified but it is believed to be related to a missing persons investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing as RCMP await the results of the autopsy. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is assisting in the investigation.
Update
RCMP have confirmed that the body found near Hespeler Street in Steinbach on April 12, 2023, is that of 29-year-old Ryan Maynard, who was reported missing on November 27, 2022. Although no criminality is suspected in his death, RCMP await the results of the autopsy.
