Portage la Prairie RCMP are reporting that a Long Plain First Nation man has been arrested and charged after police seized a quantity of drugs, weapons and stolen property from a local residence.
Earlier in June, as a result of an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of a Controlled Substance, officers with the Portage la Prairie RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS), along with officers from the Portage Detachment, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Fisher Avenue in the City of Portage la Prairie.
Police say that a search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of heroin, numerous bottles of illicit pills, several weapons, drug related paraphernalia and a large amount of stolen property.
RCMP report that 31-year-old Ernest Gregory, of Long Plain First Nation, was arrested and remanded into custody on numerous charges related to this incident, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
