On July 21, 2023, at approximately 2:15pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to an airplane crash at a location east of Highway 59, near the intersection of Provincial Road 435 and 31 East, in the Rural Municipality of St. Clements.
Officers attended the scene and located a small, single engine airplane, in a field located off of Highway 59.
Police say that the pilot and lone occupant, a 32-year-old Winnipeg man, was able to get out of the airplane on his own. He was subsequently checked and released on scene by Emergency Medical Services.
Further investigation has determined that the airplane had landed and was attempting to take off again, when it went into the ditch and rolled.
RCMP report that the Transportation Safety Board of Canada was notified of the incident.
