Oakbank RCMP are reporting that a 40-year-old Saskatoon woman has recently died after being struck by a train in the Rural Municipality of Springfield, Manitoba.
On August 9, 2023, at approximately 12:25pm, officers from Oakbank RCMP, along with Springfield Police and CP Police, responded to a report of a pedestrian having been struck by a train. The incident occurred at the crossing located on Day Street, near Risque Avenue, in the RM of Springfield.
Police say that members attended the location and discovered a 40-year-old female, from Saskatoon. The woman was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
Oakbank RCMP, along with CP Police, continue to investigate this incident.
