Morris RCMP are currently investigating a recent murder-suicide incident that occurred at a residence located in the Rural Municipality of Morris, Manitoba.
On August 12, 2023, at approximately 12:35am, Morris RCMP, along with officers from Emerson and St. Pierre-Jolys, responded to a report regarding a shooting at a residence located in the RM of Morris. Police were told that a 32-year-old male had shot a 65-year-old female and wounded a 59-year-old male. It was also reported that the 32-year-old male had shot himself.
Officers attended the scene and located the 32-year-old male and the 65-year-old female victim deceased in the residence. The 59-year-old male was treated on scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP report that there is a familial connection between all three involved individuals, and that no other suspects are being searched for.
Morris RCMP, along with Major Crime Services and RCMP Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
