Manitoba RCMP are reporting that a 32-year-old woman has died as the result of a recent off-road vehicle collision that occurred on the main road in Mathias Colomb Cree Nation (Pukatawagan).
On August 2, 2023, at 1:30am, Pukatawagan RCMP responded to a report of an off-road vehicle rollover in the community.
Police believe that a quad, being operated by a 21-year-old female, was traveling on the main road when she lost control and rolled. The operator, along with her two female passengers, ages 32 and 21, were thrown from the quad onto the road.
RCMP report that the three females were transported to the nursing station where both 21-year-olds were treated and released with minor physical injuries. The 32-year-old was transported by life-flight to Winnipeg where she succumbed to her injuries on August 4.
Police noted that no helmets were in use at the time of the collision.
