On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, Red River Co-op will donate five-cents of every litre of fuel and one-dollar from every Co-operative Coffee and Big Cool sold at all of its gas bar locations to St. Amant Foundation. The funds will help create a new dedicated play area for children with complex medical needs.
“We are happy to support this new special space that will bring joy to many children and their families in our community who are supported by St. Amant,” said Craig Gilpin, CEO of Red River Co-op.
The current play area that is used by children of all ages and their families desperately needs renovation. Proceeds from Fuel Good Day will help turn the area into a bright colourful space with fresh paint as well as new flooring and lighting. It will also help purchase new sensory equipment, safe and comfortable floor mats, toys, and books. The transformed space will help children of all ages, abilities, and medical needs to learn and grow while having fun.
“This partnership with Red River Co-op helps provide much-needed funding to renovate this outdated play area and provide an accessible place for families and children with all abilities supported by St. Amant to reach their full potential,” said Juliette Mucha, Executive Director of St. Amant Foundation. “This space will allow staff to deliver key services such as physiotherapy, music and speech therapy in a fun environment where kids can thrive.”
Since Fuel Good Day started in 2017, Red River Co-op has donated over $346,000 to local non-profit organizations, including the Bear Clan Patrol, Siloam Mission, Klinic Community Health, and more.
Red River Co-op encourages all members and customers to fuel up at any Red River Co-op Gas Bar on Tuesday, September 19 to help improve the lives of children supported by St. Amant and to make a difference in the community.
