Steinbach Arts Council is proud to present the exhibit “August Brush” by local artist Arlene Enns. The exhibit will run from August 17 to October 3, 2016 at the Hall Gallery in the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre.

Arlene Enns Arlene has loved to produce arts and crafts her whole life and has only now, after raising three children and terminating a 16-year restaurant business venture, begun to find the time and energy to pursue art as more than just a hobby. She began in oil paints years ago, switched to water colour when her children were small and recently jumped into acrylic just because she could. Arlene still likes to play with a variety of mediums on a variety of surfaces.

Though she hasĀ  no formal training to speak of, Arlene does enjoy pushing herself out of her comfort zones by taking and teaching the occasional art classes, entering juried exhibits, as well as holding my own exhibits.

Arlene’s motto is “affordable original art” as she believe everyone should be entitled to beautiful works that speak to them and should not be limited to main stream prints and mass-produced art.

This exhibit will remain open to the public until October 3, 2016. Everyone is invited to attend the opening ceremony with a reception to follow. A Toonie donation is requested and greatly appreciated.
