Selkirk RCMP are reporting that a 39-year-old male suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to a recent armed robbery incident that occurred at a business located in the community.
On March 15, 2024, at approximately 2:55am, Selkirk RCMP responded to an armed robbery on Main Street.
Investigation determined that a male suspect, armed with an edged weapon, threatened an employee, stole items and fled the scene.
Police say that a description of the suspect was obtained and officers immediately made patrols in the area. The suspect was subsequently located and arrested without incident. Members noted that the man was found to be wanted on three outstanding warrants.
RCMP report that 39-year-old Gary Richard is now facing charges of robbery with a weapon, failing to comply, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was remanded into custody.
