A 24-year-old female was recently arrested after being located by police in a stolen vehicle. The woman was found to be in possession of numerous weapons and a quantity of drugs.
Portage la Prairie RCMP recently responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Lorne Avenue, in Portage la Prairie. The vehicle licence plate was checked and found to be associated to a stolen vehicle out of Winnipeg.
Officers began patrolling the area but did not locate the vehicle. A second report was received, advising the vehicle was parked on Oak Bay in Portage la Prairie. The vehicle was subsequently located parked at that location and the lone occupant, an adult female, was arrested without incident.
Police say that a search of the vehicle and suspect resulted in the seizure of two knives, brass knuckles, identification belonging to someone else, as well as a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.
RCMP report that the suspect, 24-year-old Dana Dueck, is now facing numerous charges related to this incident, including possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and identify fraud.
