The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce Board and staff have announced that the 56th Annual Pioneer Days Parade will take place on Friday, August 2, 2024, with a slight change in route to accommodate construction areas.

Steinbach is known far-and-wide for its annual Pioneer Days Parade that kicks off the Pioneer Days weekend of festivities in Steinbach, celebrating the community’s roots and rich heritage. With an average of 120 unique entries per year and the always-popular candy and other giveaways, thousands of people attend the parade each year. Attendees are reminded and encouraged to ‘Bring a Tin for the Bin!’ as South East Helping Hands will be collecting non-perishable food items for the local food bank.

“It’s pretty special to reflect on how our Pioneer Days Parade has run almost consecutively for 56 years,” said Tessa Masi, Executive Director for the Steinbach Chamber. “Our Parade brings excitement to Steinbach and surrounding area, and we could not achieve this enthusiasm without the partnership of an exceptional variety of community business partners.”

Chamber officials say that the parade route will differ slightly from prior years. Starting at the Fire Hall at 10am, the parade proceeds west on Main Street, and continues on Main Street across Highway 12, ending at North Front Drive.

In the interest of public safety, the Steinbach Chamber together with Steinbach RCMP, Steinbach Fire Department and the City of Steinbach, reminds all spectators that failure to stay behind the marked barricade tape could result in serious injury. Parents and guardians are urged to ensure their children do not run into the street to grab candy or prizes.

Parade judges will be giving out prizes to entries in four categories:

  • Historical – Show us the history / progression of your organization.
  • Most Creative – Think outside of the box and get creative.
  • Judges Choice – Get creative and wow the crowd!

The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce unites and represents Steinbach and area businesses, in the belief that the resulting economic growth and stability provides an enhanced quality of life for the entire community. The Pioneer Days Parade is one of many annual events put on by the Steinbach Chamber.
