Three male suspects were recently arrested and charged in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at a business located on Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk, Manitoba.
RCMP officers recently responded to a report of an armed robbery in Selkirk and learned that two male suspects walked into the business, filled two bags with merchandise, and when confronted by employees, threatened them with a knife. The two suspects then fled the store on foot, joined by a third male.
Police soon after located one male walking through a nearby field. The 23-year-old, from Winnipeg, was arrested and was found to have two knives and a straight blade on his person. A short time later, officers located and arrested a second male suspect, a 32-year-old from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, and then a third male, a 39-year-old from Winnipeg. All were found in separate locations.
RCMP report that the 32-year-old was arrested on an outstanding warrant, but was not charged in connection to the armed robbery. The 23-year-old was charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, uttering threats against a person, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The 39-year-old was charged with robbery.
Members noted that no persons were physically injured in this incident and that all three suspects have been released from custody.
