Morris RCMP are reporting that two individuals have been arrested and charged after they were found to be in possession of drugs and stolen property.
On August 12, 2024, Morris RCMP received a report of a stolen truck, trailer and off-road-vehicle (ORV), at a property located on McMillan Avenue, in the community. Officers responded to the property and located a stolen pickup truck and utility trailer.
While RCMP were on scene, two suspects, driving an ORV, arrived at the property. Police say that the ORV was subsequently confirmed stolen.
RCMP report that the male driver and female passenger were arrested. The driver was found to be in possession of 46 grams of suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.
As a result of investigation, 39-year-old Daniel Somerton, of Morris, will be facing numerous theft and drug related charges. The 40-year-old female, of Morris, is facing charges of assault, from a previous file, and possession of stolen property. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
