The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) is investigating the circumstances surrounding an interaction between an adult male and an on-duty Winkler Police Service officer.
On August 21, 2024, the Winkler Police Service notified the IIU of a complaint received July 14.
The complaint was made by a man who reported an on-duty officer made threatening comments toward him while at Tim Hortons in Winkler around 4am on July 14.
The civilian director of the IIU has determined it is in the public interest to investigate.
