The Rural Municipality (RM) of Hanover is asking local residents to report any unbarricaded road washouts and any houses being threatened by flooding. Reports on flooded streets, farmland and drainage ditches running full are not considered emergencies.
Residents are asked to call the Public Works line at 204-346-7129 and reception will dispatch the Public Works staff to tend to any emergent situations.
Officials say that empty sandbags are available for pick-up at the Hanover Public Works yard located at 25145 Road 33N, south of Kleefeld. Sand can be ordered privately through a local supplier for delivery.
The public is also reminded that utility operators are tending to the RM lift stations to ensure sewer services continue to operate.
